OURGANDA’S BIG THREE
Safe water is indispensable. Everyone is affected, but the greatest burden and heaviest weight rests on the shoulders of women who are tasked with carrying 45 pounds over long distances several times a day only to arrive at their homes with polluted water.
Ourganda is saving a lot of lives. God is blessing at a pace that is both exciting and challenging. The time has come to secure our own headquarters, a fully-developed campus that will be a center of hope and light to the Bundibugyo community in far-western Uganda.
One of Ourganda’s long-term goals is to assure that medical care is available to every person in the Bundibugyo District in far western Uganda. With 300,000 people living in over 600 villages, is that possible?

THE OURGANDA MODEL
Ourganda employs two medical care teams comprised of three medical clinical officers, two midwives, two nurses, two drivers, and a part-time accountant.
Our master care team takes medical education, triage, and treatment to people who have no access to a clinic or a hospital. When necessary, they respond to emergencies such as burns, injuries, high fever, and problems with childbirth.
We establish wellness clubs in each village so that people can begin to take responsibility for their own health. Each club is led by a local three-person team consisting of a person of health, village midwife, and story collector.
Ourganda brings clean water to desperate villages and distributes birthing kits for pregnant women, hygiene kits for young women, and health kits for kids (mosquito nets, shoes, soap, water bottles, etc.)
WE FEEL COMPELLED TO SAVE LIVES
When serving in the village of Kitsolima II, our care team met a young mother named Zebrina. For three years, she endured a painful and humiliating condition that was slowly taking her life. Our team took her to Kampala for surgery. She is now fully recovered and is working as a part-time assistant on our medical care team.
In western Uganda, people’s lives are frequently lost without intervention that costs so little. It is incomprehensible to those of us who have access to medical care.
Ourganda exists for one reason: To save the next Zebrina, and many hundreds like her, in the Bundibugyo District.
THE STORY OF JESUS IS THE STORY OF COMPASSION
Jesus saw every person as worthy of love and care. He lived unselfishly and modeled kindness. He taught that true religion consists of treating every human being with dignity, concern, and love. His ultimate act of compassion was to lay down His life on the cross for the salvation of the world. We who have accepted His redemption feel compelled to continue His work of spreading compassion and hope to as many people as we can reach in the Bundibugyo District of Uganda.
